Salus & Vert Engineering services received Corporate Membership in Consultancy category with a license to conduct NISE accredited HSE trainings in Nigeria. This was done at the Inauguration of Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers and swearing in of Engr. Akaninyene Ekong as the Pioneer Chairman on 28th October, 2017.

The Investiture was held at Eden Hotels, Eket under the Chairmanship of Engr. A.B. Oyedepo with the theme,
CREATING A CULTURE OF SAFETY IN AKWA IBOM STATE: THE WAY FORWARD.
In his Opening remark, the Chairman of NISE, Engr. Oyedepo (FNSE), commended the Akwa Ibom Legislature on the vigorous approach towards the enhancement of safety and for passing into law, The Maritime Safety Act.
In his acceptance speech, Engr. Ekong applauded the National Body of NISE for considering Akwa Ibom safe and worthy. Stressing that life without safety adherence, is a life full of risk.
He however called for a minute’s silence for victims of collapsed buildings ,floods , erosion etc caused by poor standard of safety in construction designs across the nation. He also called on the State Government to partner the State Legislature for the purpose of establishing the Akwa Ibom State Safety Commission to enable the regulation and enforcement of safety compliance in the state.
Also speaking, Hon Hakeem Dickson, Director General, Lagos State Safety Commission, in his lecture,on Vision Zero, urged all participants and awardees to show proactive leadership commitment towards the establishment of a Safety Commission in Akwa Ibom State.
The event also featured a conferment of an award to the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke,
Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh, Member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency, Mr Nsikan Nkan, Commissioner for Finance, Akwa Ibom State, Prince Enobong Uwah, Barr. Prince Ukpong Akpabio as Patrons of the Institution. Others were, Engr. Thompson Manam, Engr. Godwin Umoh, Eng. Pius Bassey, Engr. Ekerette Usak and Pastor Ubong Nsubong.
Engr. Thompson in a remark, thanked all the inductees and urged all patrons to exhibit exemplary leadership in the course of safety advocacy.
